The Graduate School aims to provide a rich intellectual, academic and research environment for educating students to become leaders in the discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge. To help facilitate this, our graduate faculty members are selected based on experience in research, scholarship and education. They are drawn from the faculties of Augusta University's College of Allied Health Sciences, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Hull College of Business, Dental College of Georgia, College of Education and Human Development, College of Science and Mathematics, College of Nursing, School of Computer & Cyber Sciences, the Medical College of Georgia, and the School of Public Health. Class sizes are small, and the faculty excels in cultivating and modeling supportive, collegial and professional relationships with students. Job Summary
The Slate Functional Technologist supports and optimizes the use of Technolutions' Slate CRM to support enrollment and student success for programs within The Graduate School. This position bridges the gap between technology and functional processes, focusing on configuring and maintaining Slate functionality to streamline the student admission and enrollment experience and improve workflow efficiency for program faculty and administrators. Reporting directly to The Graduate School, the Functional Technologist collaborates very closely with the Slate Captain and Slate team within Enrollment and Student Affairs to ensure seamless and complementary Slate configuration.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT: Strategize, configure, develop, implement, and support the deployment of Slate for programs within The Graduate School. Utilize knowledge of Slate to recommend and implement tailored solutions that address the business needs of the school and its stakeholders. Configure and customize workflows, forms, reports, and portals to meet departmental needs, ensuring application processes are seamless for applicants. Document business requirements and translate them into system needs, including creating development plans, and outcomes. Lead configuration of applications and annual cycle prep of Slate for programs. Continually expand Slate knowledge to optimize system use and strengthen processes.
USER SUPPORT, TRAINING, AND DOCUMENTATION: Serve as the primary support and champion for all Slate users, including graduate program directors and faculty, within The Graduate School. Manage account creation, audits, roles and security, and deactivation for users. Provide regular, in-depth training to all users, maintaining training resources available on demand. Communicate system enhancements and updates in non-technical terms and provide training and documentation on data entry procedures. Collaborate with faculty and administrators to understand functional needs and advocate for system enhancements to meet those needs. Maintain thorough documentation, including system configuration, processes, and workflows, to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.
DATA INTEGRITY AND REPORTING: Create user reports using relevant business analytics tools, ensuring they meet the needs of functional users at partner institutions. Maintain policies and organization of system data to ensure high database performance. Develop custom reports and dashboards within Slate to provide actionable insights to key stakeholders. Collaborate with IT for seamless and accurate data integrations with third-party systems including the SIS. Maximize Slate's efficiency and accuracy by implementing system rules and reducing manual processes. Test and validate updates and new functionalities from Technolutions to keep the system up to date.
COMMUNICATION AND ENROLLMENT CAMPAIGNS: Support the development and management of communication flows for enrollment funnel management, including email, text, and print campaigns, and ensure timely delivery. Collaborate with Graduate Admissions Operations, graduate program admissions faculty and staff, and The Graduate School to design, implement, and track communication plans that drive recruitment and engagement for programs. Collaborate with student success teams within to design, implement, and track proactive outreach communication that drives retention and persistence for graduate programs. Develop and maintain reporting functions to monitor key metrics and best practices for Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM), supporting enrollment goals and retention strategies. Coordinate with University Communications & Marketing to optimize engagement and ensure consistent brand use.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Education, or Business Administration) and a minimum of five years of experience in higher education settings, particularly in admissions, enrollment management, or related areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including admissions, financial aid, and academic departments, to streamline processes and improve user engagement with Slate. Strong analytical skills in utilizing data analytics and reporting to inform decision-making and drive process improvements in enrollment management and student success initiatives. Three or more years of direct experience as a functional technologist or in a related role within higher education, specifically focusing on the Slate platform. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects related to CRM implementation, upgrades, and integration, demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking.

Strong understanding of and experience in Technolutions Slate CRM and its applications for enrollment management.
Competence in developing and maintaining standardized datasets for ad-hoc reporting needs.
Experience in leading cross-functional projects, defining objectives, and coordinating with team members to achieve goals.
Innovative thinking and the ability to develop effective solutions for complex challenges within enrollment processes.
Adaptability in applying new knowledge and skills to optimize system functionality and improve user experiences.
Proficiency in advanced SQL and reporting tools to create sophisticated data visualizations and dashboards that support institutional goals.
Familiarity with change management principles, enabling effective adoption of new technologies and processes within the institution.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of regular business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B12
Salary: Minimum $62,300 - Midpoint: $79,400
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
