Summary: Supervises employees and operations in a designed area. Responsible for employee training, auditing, product or service quality control, establishing productivity standards, performance issues, staffing, payroll and other matters associated with the productivity and operations of assigned area. Handles confidential information and issues. May have grant and budgetary responsibilities. Supervises the work of, but does not perform, the same duties as subordinate personnel. May have some administrative assistant duties and manage compliance/regulatory processes. May act as a liaison to leadership and/or as human resources officer for department. Supervises employees and operations in ICOS. Establish productivity standards for all administrative staff. Acts as a liaison to leadership of ICOS.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Onboarding of new employees including recommending and opening new positions. Trains staff and manage productivity standards for ICOS. Supervises all administrative staff. Approves bi-weekly time for payroll processing. Manages monthly leave in eLAS system.
Assists ICOS Director in and advanced administrative capacity including acting as a liaison to outside and internal leadership.
Facilities management including space allocation, telecommunications, IT integration (with UAB and COA), wet lab space; Acts as liaison to ICOS leadership regarding space/facility needs.
Works on performance improvement projects for ICOS including identifying processes for improving productivity; mentors administrative personnel on improving services to faculty; conducts and attends regular staff/administrative meetings to stay abreast of any pertinent changes.
Salary: $45,395 - $52,000


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. Minimum hiring rate must meet the most current FLSA guidelines for salary level and basis to remain exempt.

Experience: Experience in complex clerical duties.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and verbal communication skills, Interpersonal skills
Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
