Administers FAA syllabus flight and ground instruction to university students; performs check rides IAW FAA prescribed guidelines; instructs ground school if required; administers FAA required ground tests; schedules training, stage checks and check rides; performs FAST flights (faculty; staff transportation); assists in promoting the department of aviation; develops new courses and syllabi; helps with preventive maintenance of OU fleet aircraft; performs dispatching duties for daily flight ops.

Required Education:

  • High School diploma or GED OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting.

Certifications:

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor License
  • Must have and maintain FAA Class II medical
  • Valid driver's license

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Able to administer flight instructions
  • Lift up to 45 lbs of weight
