Job Summary
The Director for Student Leadership and Organizations will oversee all leadership development programs and the management of more than 300 registered student organizations. Their responsibilities include providing vision for campus-wide student leadership initiatives, advising key leadership programs, coordinating major events such as the Presidents' Inauguration and the Student Organizations and Leadership Banquet, and maintaining data on student leaders. The Director will also collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with campus traditions and student engagement goals. The Director will provide strategic goal setting to foster retention and student success through programming.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
DIRECT THE OFFICE OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONS: Supervise two professional staff members. Coach professional staff members in their supervision or programming with graduate and undergraduate students. Develop and effectively manage departmental budgets within available resources, providing oversight of day-to-day expenditures within the department. Develop strategic unit plans for the department that align with the strategic goals of the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM OVERSIGHT: Strategically vision cast the leadership programming across campus, including the development and execution of leadership curricula for both the Influencers (upperclassmen) and PathFinders (underclassmen) programs. Serve as the primary advisor for the Influencer Student Leadership Program. Provide strategic direction for leadership initiatives, ensuring alignment with university goals and enhancing student engagement. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate campus-wide leadership initiatives and traditions such as Fall and Spring Leadership Prep. Ensure alignment of leadership development efforts across different units to foster a cohesive student experience.
EVENT COORDINATION: Plan and host the Presidents' Inauguration for student organization presidents, ensuring it serves as a meaningful platform for leadership development and community building. Organize the Student Organization and Leadership Banquet to celebrate student achievements and recognize outstanding student leadership and organizational success. Direct the Coordinator of Student Organizations in planning student org workshops, Club Fest(s), advisor trainings, and student organization trainings.
DATA MANAGEMENT: Utilize a data-driven approach to increase the student engagement score for our student population. Facilitate the collection, analysis and dissemination of data on the impact of student leadership and student organizations at Augusta University. Regularly assess leadership development programs and student organization progression, using data-driven approaches to refine offerings and improve outcomes. Primary contact for Presence: (JagLife).

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university and five years of work experience in higher education or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with student engagement, leadership development, and/or campus programming
Experience supervising professional full-time staff
Experience managing budgets
Significant capability and record of data-driven decision making, as well as strategic planning implementation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Willingness to adjust personal schedule to the needs of the student organizations, and the necessity to observe, participate in, and evaluate programs
Understanding and demonstrate commitment to programs and activities that support a welcoming and supportive campus community

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
