Supervise graduate admissions, international admissions, international services, and international orientation staff and lead the university’s international recruitment efforts through the development and implementation of targeted recruitment strategies and marketing efforts; oversee graduate and international recruitment and admissions; manage the international student application process and lead admissions activities. Oversee arrivals and orientation services staff and workflow; support the development and implementation of pre-arrival, arrival, and orientation services for international students (including SEVIS processes and documentation). Participate in strategic long-range planning, marketing efforts, team building, goal setting, and assessment of office policies and procedures.

Job Function:

Supervise graduate admissions, international admissions, international services, and international orientation staff and lead the university’s international recruitment efforts through the development and implementation of targeted recruitment strategies and marketing efforts; oversee graduate and international recruitment and admissions; manage the international student application process and lead admissions activities. Participate in strategic long-range planning, marketing efforts, team building, goal setting, and assessment of office policies and procedures.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience:

At least three years of experience in the field of graduate and/or international admissions/education; supervisory experience.

Preferred Experience:

Work experience in a large public university or college.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision, strategy and leadership for graduate and international recruitment and/or admissions, to include all on-campus graduate (domestic, international, non-degree) and international (first-year, transfer, graduate, exchange, dual degree, Intensive English Institute) prospective students.
  • Direct strategic planning for pre-arrival, arrival, and orientation services, including SEVIS processing, documentation, and compliance.
  • Assign and review work, orient and train staff, and make recommendations in all areas related to supervision, including but not limited to interviewing and selection, discipline, performance appraisal, and training and career development of personnel.
  • Travel both internationally and domestically to recruit students and build relationships.
  • Provide oversight and development of communications plan, for prospective students.
  • Serve as primary communication channel with all contracted international student recruiting agents, including training.
  • Oversee international admissions for international students; manage the international student application process and lead admissions activities for international students.
  • Pursue regional and national involvement in graduate and international recruitment and admissions professional organizations.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other university departments.
  • Manage scholarship initiatives working in collaboration with Associate Vice President for Enrollment Planning and Management and Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Planning and Management and Executive Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
  • Conduct application review and make decisions on all international undergraduate and exchange student applicants.
  • Provide oversight and development of a pre-arrival and arrival communications plan for admitted international students.
  • Support AVP EPM in developing, evaluating, interpreting, and enforcing admissions policies, procedures and strategies; in collaboration with the AVP EPM, make or approve decisions which may establish or alter policies, procedures, or operations; participate in the development of the university-wide enrollment policy, as well as work closely with various offices across the university on recruitment, outreach, communications, pre-arrival, arrival, and orientation, SEVIS compliance for non-immigrant students.
  • In collaboration with AVP EPM, develop and manage graduate admissions, international admissions and orientation budgets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
