Director of Business Services, Housing and Residence Life

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an innovative urban institution in Charlotte, North Carolina, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its director of business services, housing and residence life. This is an on-site leadership role.

As a senior member of the Department of Housing and Residence Life management team, the director of business services serves a broad range of auxiliary, financial, and business functions while also being the liaison on all matters related to human resources within the department. Reporting to the associate vice chancellor for student affairs, the director of business services develops and manages a $59 million departmental budget, determines housing income, manages and oversees all financial planning for ongoing capital renovation and refurbishment projects, manages contracts with external providers of residential support services, and recommends and implements long-range strategies for growth projections that support the evolving needs of students. The director of business services has fiscal responsibility for over two million square feet of residential facilities, housing over 6,000 residents within 30 individual buildings. The director of business services supervises and manages a dynamic team of 32 employees, including four direct reports: two business services specialists, the accounts manager, and the security guard supervisor.

Salary Range: $95,000-$107,000

Qualifications
Requirements include a bachelor's degree with at least two years of supervisory experience and seven years of relevant housing and auxiliary experience. A master's degree with at least ten years of supervisory experience within higher education housing or auxiliary service operations, experience in capital construction, and public university experience are preferred.
