The chief objective of this position is to assist the Systems Administrator in maintaining and administering the ODU Research Foundation’s computing network. This includes delivering, assessing, managing data, reporting, and providing operational functions and services to ODU and its affiliates. The role involves coordinating, installing, administering, testing, documenting, troubleshooting, and performing technical tasks to support these services, as well as participating in Helpdesk support and training.

Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Desktop operating systems.
Working broad knowledge of computer technology using computers and computer systems and ability to troubleshoot issues for hardware, software, and peripherals in a network environment.
Working knowledge of customer service principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.
Working knowledge of firewall principles and concepts.
Some knowledge of Active Directory, Wired & Wireless networks, TCP/IP.
Proficiency in MS Office or Office 365.
Demonstrated ability to properly develop and maintain accurate documentation.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and associated support personnel.
Demonstrated self-starter skills and be able to work independently.

Working experience in information technology support.

Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, & DHCP.
Working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2019, MS Remote Desktop Services
Working knowledge of Enterprise level Virus Endpoint, Patching, Inventory, Backup, and Deployment software solutions.
Some experience in writing scripts, system documentation, system specifications, system requirements, presentations, correspondence, studies, reports, procedures, instructional and training materials.
Some experience working in a virtual environment (VMware, Nutanix, Prism).
Some experience working with MS Server Operating systems.
Microsoft certifications.
