Job Summary
The Donor Engagement Coordinator is a critical member of the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (PAE) team, contributing to the advancement of Augusta University's mission by fostering meaningful connections with donors and ensuring the successful execution of donor engagement initiatives. The role is responsible for enhancing donor relationships through high-level communications, execution of projects, and recognition events. It demands a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven professional with exceptional writing skills, event planning expertise, and proficiency in database management. The Donor Engagement Coordinator must excel in a fast-paced environment, showcasing exceptional multitasking skills and consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This role requires a strong commitment to discretion, sound judgment, and confidentiality when managing sensitive information.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
DATABASE MANAGEMENT: Manages and maintains accurate, detailed donor records across databases, ensuring data integrity and exercising discretion when handling sensitive financial information. Responsibilities include compiling, reconciling, and organizing data to support donor-focused projects and events such as Annual Reports, Endowment Reports, Gift Agreements, event invitations, mailing lists, and tracking weekly action items from donor report data.
PROFESSIONAL WRITING & COMMUNICATION: Creates high-quality, detailed donor communications that align with Augusta University's mission and branding standards. Responsibilities include drafting Gift Agreements, new donor postcards, personalized acknowledgment letters to high-level donors, notes recognizing life milestones and celebrations, and maintaining clear, consistent communication with Major Gift Officers.
EVENTS: Works closely in coordination with PAE and Donor Engagement leadership to plan and execute donor recognition events, including annual celebrations, scholarship recognition ceremonies, naming events, and fundraising activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to curating invitation lists, coordinating with vendors, managing event timelines, schedules & budgets, and overseeing event setup and execution.
OFFICE MANAGEMENT: Manages supplies, resources, and budgets for various PAE related events and activities as well as performs basic office tasks such as managing calendars, processing invoices, creating templates, placing supply orders, and maintaining organized files.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, communication, professional writing, journalism, or a related field and two years of demonstrated experience in donor engagement, fundraising, professional writing, database management, or event planning.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous professional experience in higher education, academic settings, or nonprofit organizations. A strong background in professional writing and correspondence, including crafting polished and impactful communications. Experience in creating and finalizing Endowment Reports with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated success in developing detailed and precise professional reports using data across multiple platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in computer software including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and DocuSign with a high competency in Excel and database management. Experience with programs such as Raiser's Edge, ODDER, and ThankView is highly desirable.
CONFIDENTIALITY & DISCRETION: Skilled at handling sensitive information and navigating confidential or challenging situations.
ORGANIZATION & ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Maintains a keen eye for detail and precision, ensuring accuracy in formatting, documentation, and task execution.
PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION: Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with expertise in grammar, editing, and crafting professional documents as well as the ability to engage effectively to foster positive relationships with donors, team members, and the public.
SELF-MOTIVATION & INITIATIVE: Highly self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and proactively address challenges with minimal supervision. Exhibits strong decision-making skills and a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
TIME MANAGEMENT & ADAPTABILITY: Demonstrates exceptional time management skills and adaptability, effectively balancing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment ensuring critical projects are completed on time while consistently maintaining the highest quality standards.

Salary Minimum: $45,400 - Midpoint: $56,700
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
