About the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE)
Under the leadership of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) challenges students to become accomplished learners who are able to make meaningful connections among work, study, and community. We connect curricular and co-curricular offerings to support students in developing a strong foundation for success, during college and after. We do this through the efforts of our faculty, professional staff, and students, and we strive to create and maintain a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive educational and work environment. This position must be available to work standard GT business hours M-F, 8-5 (or 7-4 or 9-6), as well as some evenings as weekends based on student programs and with advanced notice. The first 3-6 months of employment are fully in-person/on site. Following this, some telecommuting will be available in accordance with OUE's guidelines. Experiential and Engaged Learning (E2L) embodies the lifeblood of the Institute's "hand and mind" approach to education and its aspirations "to provide all students with transformative learning experiences to grow as creative, ethical, globally aware, technologically sophisticated leaders who can define and solve problems to improve the human condition." We activate this ambition through the facilitation and development of High-Impact Practices including community-based learning, living learning communities, transition seminars, student innovation, undergraduate research, and work-based learning.
Community-based learning is an educational approach that integrates classroom instruction with meaningful community engagement. It promotes active engagement, collaboration, and practical application of knowledge, fosters a deeper understanding of academic concepts and cultivates civic responsibility among learners. The Office of Community-Based Learning connects community partners, faculty, and staff to support educational partnerships that respond to community goals. ¿ Supporting events, programs and operations which grow, enhance quality, or contribute to the equitable participation and assessment of experiential learning and High Impact Practices across campus.
¿ Participate fully in all programs, events, and other aspects of OUE and E2L, including trainings, town halls, orientations, marketing, outreach, operations and campus relations.
¿ Perform other duties as assigned in support of E2L or OUE.
Job Summary
Provide promotional, administrative, performance assessment, and financial/accounting services in support of assigned program(s) within a research center, academic unit, or other campus units of a school. These functions may encompass a variety of activities related to program success including coordination of program marketing, program administration, program operations, and program development. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: research, academic and administrative management and staff with a school or center and across campus, vendors and sponsors. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Design/develop promotional and marketing materials to include those developed for specific target audiences in support of program outreach efforts.
Job Duty 2 -
Plan, schedule and coordinate promotional events.
Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate administrative activities associated with program operations such as procurement, records maintenance, compliance, meeting arrangements and minutes, and document preparation.
Job Duty 4 -
Develop, analyze, reconcile and report financial data related to program operations.
Job Duty 5 -
Develop and maintain performance assessment tools applied in program review to measure and report progress.
Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate with internal and external entities to aid institutional or program support.
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
4-6 years of experience developing, implementing, and managing service-learning and community engagement programs and operations within an educational or nonprofit setting.
Experience in marketing or communications using design software.
Experience in program assessment and evaluation to measure outcomes and impact.
Experience in project management.
Experience in CRM tools to manage partnerships and track metrics.
Experience in coordinating collaborative projects and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong understanding of service-learning and community engagement program management and best practices.
Adept at communicating with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community partners.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community organizations.
Budget management skills to allocate and track resources effectively.
Ability to enhance student connections between curriculum and real-world experiences.
Effective in collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve common goals.
This job requires working knowledge of research program promotion and administration. Also required are skills in planning, organization, spoken and written communications, scheduling and customer service. Use of office and specialized computer applications and databases are required.
