Job Summary
***Two positions available***
This position provides clinical trial monitoring for the Georgia Cancer Center. Responsibilities include examining source documents, medical records, case report forms and study logs to ensure data accuracy and compliance with the protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and federal as well as local applicable regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of study participants.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Reviewing source documents, medical records, case report forms, and study logs to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Comparing data entered in the electric data capture systems with the original source documents to identify discrepancies and resolve queries.
Assessing if the study is being conducted according to the IRB approved protocol, including patient inclusion and exclusion criteria, treatment administration, and data collection procedures.
Reviewing adverse events, concomitant medications and safety reports to ensure appropriate follow-up and reporting.
Reviewing regulatory documents to ensure compliance with applicable institutional and federal guidelines
Assessing potential issues that could impact data integrity or participant safety and taking corrective actions.
Discussing any findings, concerns or issues identified during the monitoring visit with the Principal Investigator and research staff.
Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia, and a minimum of three year' of clinical experience in a specialized area. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification
OR
Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia, and a minimum of six years of clinical experience in a specialized area. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Experienced in oncology preferred. Experienced in clinical research preferred. CCRC certification or eligible to take the CCRC exam. Knowledge and experience with oncology research, including federally funded projects, industry-sponsored projects and investigator-initiated studies.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Knowledge of good clinical practices and IRB requirements; basic clinical skills; patient evaluation procedures; medical terminology.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization, organizational, typing and multi-tasking skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be self-motivated. Ability to maintain confidentiality; interpret lab tests/x-rays; exercise sound judgment and make responsible decisions; work independently; and work flexible hours to include, early mornings, after hours, nights and weekends, and on-call two weeks per month.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Part Time (0.49 FTE)
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $32.93-$41.97
Pay Band: B13
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.

GA Defined Contribution Plan
Participation in the Georgia Defined Contribution Plan is mandatory for part-time and temporary employees. The Georgia Defined Contribution Plan is a retirement plan for part-time employees who work less than 50% and for temporary employees. Members contribute 7 1/2% of gross salary to the plan.
