Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree in HVAC, Electronics or a related field and eight (8) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must be able to pass FBI form FD-961 clearance, willing to be fingerprinted and accept random drug testing. Grade 7 (Salary).

Position Description:

The Automation System Specialist IV position responsibilities include operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and replacement of pneumatic, electric, electronic and direct digital controls for building HVAC systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, mange test & commission building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS.)

  • Manage Building Automation System and Energy management System employees with hiring, performance evaluations, training

  • Manage contractor specifications, problems/issues, performance and administration.

  • Assist in the acceptance phase of commissioning construction projects.

  • Troubleshoot possible issues including identifying and debugging software, electrical or pneumatic and installation problems with BAS and EMS.

  • Generate reports and recommendations on the performance, condition, operation and maintenance of building equipment and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with installation, programming, start-up, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting and repair of one or more direct digital control systems such as Siemens, Apogee, Schneider Electric I/A Series, Tridium Niagara R2, etc.

  • Experience generating web-based graphics, alarms, trends and other automated reports. Experience configuring and integrating various manufacturer graphical user interfaces, network level controllers and field level controllers using BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus and proprietary protocols.

  • Possess strong computer skills with Excel, Visio, Word and strong interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.

  • CEM or LEED AP

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
