Job Description

The John T. Steed School of Accounting in the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time Ranked Renewable Term position in accounting beginning in August 2025. This is a renewable fixed term (non-tenure track) position. The initial appointment is a three-year renewable term. This is a ranked position (assistant or associate).

The primary duties include teaching, mentoring students, and serving as a member of School/College committees.  Our primary teaching needs are in tax.  We also have needs in accounting information systems, managerial accounting, and financial accounting. The teaching load is eight courses per year and may involve multiple preparations.

General

The Price College is AACSB-accredited with approximately 6,000 undergraduate, 700 master's, and 40 doctoral students.  The Steed School of Accounting is separately accredited by the AACSB with approximately 600 bachelors, 250 MAcc (residential and online), and 11 doctoral students. Graduate students experience strong placements and high CPA exam pass rates. The Steed School faculty currently consists of 22 full-time faculty members: 14 tenured / tenure-track professors and 8 eight full-time instructional faculty.

To be eligible for the position as ranked renewable professor, candidates must have an accounting-related terminal graduate degree with a preference for a doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited program. Preference will be given to candidates with a professional certification (e.g. CPA or CMA) and teaching experience or equivalent professional experience. Experience with online instruction is also desirable. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate ongoing intellectual or professional activity and to qualify ideally as a scholarly academic for AACSB purposes.

Candidates will be evaluated based on their relevant research, accounting-related experience, teaching experience or potential, and fit to departmental teaching needs.
