Job Function:
Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes; direct all phases of the women’s soccer program.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience:
At least three years of coaching experience.
Preferred Experience:
Five years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes.
- Perform duties in all areas of the program at the direction of the athletic director or sport supervisor.
- Successfully plan, develop and administer all phases of the women’s soccer program.
- Perform proper administration of the budget; includes prepare and manage it in a fiscally sound manner.
- Schedule team travel; coordinate travel arrangements.
- Recruit and select athletes; select grant-in-aid recipients; support the retention of student-athletes.
- Direct scouting and pre-competition evaluation of opponents.
- Support the promotion and marketing of the program; includes public speaking, camps, clinics, special projects, and dealing with alumni.
- Work with the athletic communications department and the media in increasing visibility of the program.
- Select, supervise and evaluate assistant coach(s).
- Direct and coordinate with University College the successful progress of the student-athletes.
- Show commitment to and responsibility for, adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA; pass the NCAA certification examination on an annual basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
