Manage the daily activities of the on campus recruiting (OCR) and on campus Interviewing programs (OCI); provide information regarding services and programs to constituents including students, alumni, employers, staff, and faculty; implement marketing strategies to promote use of recruiting services to employers and students; maintain systems applicable to the Career Center Employer Partnership Program. The position will work with a variety of colleagues both internal and external to the university and balance an array of duties.

Job Function:

Manage the daily activities of the on campus recruiting (OCR) and on campus Interviewing programs (OCI); provide information regarding services and programs to constituents including students, alumni, employers, staff, and faculty; implement marketing strategies to promote use of recruiting services to employers and students; maintain systems applicable to the Career Center Employer Partnership Program. The position will work with a variety of colleagues both internal and external to the university and balance an array of duties.

Minimum Education:

Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education:

Associate’s degree in administration or business.

Minimum Experience:

One through three years of experience in secretarial, business, systems, customer service or related field.

Preferred Experience:

Additional years of experience in secretarial, business, systems, customer service, or related field; experience with web-based applications and databases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the on-campus recruiting (OCR) and On Campus Interview (OCI) programs including maintaining recruiting calendar, scheduling employer visits, setting registration deadlines, and managing the candidate notification and sign-up process through Cardinal Career Link (CCL); communicate opportunities with Career Center staff and faculty; provide information regarding services and programs to constituents including students, alumni, employers, staff, and faculty; implement marketing strategies to promote use of recruiting services to employers and students. Prepare final reports.
  • Respond to inquiries from employers and students regarding on-campus recruiting and events; conduct follow-up calls to ensure clients’ needs are met; explain and enforce on campus recruiting policies; offer alternative recruiting activities; advise employers of strategies and tactics to improve interview strategies and enhance campus presence.
  • Maintain data in Cardinal Career Link system for the on-campus recruiting program; monitor scheduling system to ensure accuracy of employer and position information; follow up with employers as needed; provide information to employers and students about using CCL to post positions, manage schedules, and schedule interviews; run daily reports and prepare packets for employer visits; resolve scheduling problems with students and employers and adjust electronic or CCL records as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate the employer component of the Career Center Practice Interview Program; includes recruiting alumni/employers to participate, scheduling alumni/employers to attend, creating and scheduling backup plans due to employer cancellations, hosting alumni/employers onsite, and assisting the Assistant Director with other related duties.
  • Assist with Career Center and academic job fairs, including facilities, communicating with employers, and setting up day after interviews.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating Career Center Networking events with Employer Partners, Alumni, and Faculty; includes recruiting alumni/employers, faculty to participate, scheduling alumni/employers, faculty to attend, creating and scheduling event plans, hosting alumni/employers, faculty at the event
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with various campus departments to plan and manage academic job fairs; includes maintain employer registrations through Cardinal Career Link; communicate with employers, collect registration fees, and coordinate day-of-event activities as requested.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Manage the Career Center electric “GEM car” vehicle, including daily transport of the vehicle to the Career Center and back to the charging station, adding marketing materials, charging, and coordinating use of the car with other departments on campus.
