Echocardiography Technician I

We are looking for an Echocardiography Technician I to join our team! In this role, you will utilize high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) and other noninvasive echocardiography equipment to capture detailed images of the heart. This position requires specialized knowledge and skills to support diagnostic and/or therapeutic services for a designated patient population.

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Perform Echocardiogram, carotid and peripheral vascular studies, use non-invasive procedure, to examine heart valves, chambers and blood vessels to produce images.
  • Evaluate the various valves and chambers of the heart and makes appropriate measurements.
  • Perform imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations which may include exercise tolerance tests, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Obtain patient history, explains procedure to patient, addresses patients’ concerns, and
  • Determine appropriate methodology and techniques to use arrange immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning: selects appropriate imaging device.
  • Recognize potentially serious conditions (e.g., pericardial effusion, intracardiac tumor, thrombi, etc) and brings it to the attention of the physician.
  • Maintains echocardiography and other equipment in efficient operating order; may perform minor preventative maintenance; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
  • Other duties in department as assigned.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
  • Externship during Cardiovascular program
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), and/or Register Cardiac Sonography (RCS) from Cardiovascular credentialing international (CCI)Within 6 months of hire
  • BLS Card from the American Heart Association
  • Associate degree in Cardiovascular Ultrasound, preferred

Pay Rate: $41.03 - $61.54 / hour
