Job Description
Sacred Heart University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, starting Fall 2025. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and teaching a multi-section course in general, organic, and biochemistry designed for nursing majors.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage all lecture and lab sections for the assigned course.
Develop, update, and maintain curriculum consistency across sections.
Provide instructional content and support for learning lab tutors.
Address student inquiries and offer academic guidance as needed.
Meet regularly with the department chair to discuss course progress, challenges, and improvements.
Qualifications
A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered).
Proven potential for excellence in teaching and fostering a collaborative, collegial learning environment.
Significant prior teaching experience is highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
