Job Description
The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic & Preventive Sciences, Division of Community Dentistry to be the Division Head for Community Dentistry. This position will report to the Department Chair of Preventive & Diagnostic Sciences and primary responsibilities include teaching didactic and pre-clinical courses and overseeing the extership rotations for DDS students. This includes the development and organization of course materials, schedules, handouts, syllabi, and teaching aids. In addition to the courses, other duties include managing relationships with external clinics in the placement of our students for externhsip opportunities. Faculty are expected to be actively involved with University committees, continuing education and outreach, along with other tasks assigned by the Department Chair.
Responsibilites include:
- Develop/Update course syllabi and lecture content (Community Dentistry, Evidence-Based Dentistry and Senior Externship courses), to include slide presentations, reading materials, course assignments and grading rubrics
- Upload course content on Canvas, grade student assignments, and calculate course grades
- Coordinate student rotations to external sites and maintain contact with clinincal site dental directors and preceptors/staff dentists.
- Develop and facilitate preceptor training as needed
- Address student concerns as needed
- Identify and create opportunities to effectively learn about,, seve and recrui form underserved communiites in smaller and rural cities within the state.
- Work together with the College of Dentistry Admissions team to create effective strategies for developing and recruiting all applicants

Candidates must have a DDS/DMD from a CODA accredited dental school or foreign equivalent and completion of Part I and Part II of National Dental Board Examinations. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
