Job Function:
Responsible for producing creative video content for Ball State's athletics programs and external platforms.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field of study by date of employment.
Preferred Education:
Master's degree.
Minimum Experience:
One year of experience in an athletics environment.
Preferred Experience:
Three years of experience in a NCAA Division 1 athletic department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce high level video content for Ball State Athletics that includes shooting and editing dynamic pieces for all sport platforms, i.e. website, social channels, television network, in-venue, live production, etc.
- Responsible for content creation plans and execution for assigned sports and projects.
- Serve as liaison between Athletics and University Media Services and Sports Link.
- Work closely with Athletics Communications and external departments to ensure full integration and interactivity with all digital platforms.
- Oversee a staff of student assistants while recruiting, mentoring and collaborating with students and department staff on all aspects of photo and video production.
- Travel with various Ball State Athletics sports teams, as assigned, to capture, edit, and develop event-related footage.
- Plan, develop and implement goals and objectives for Athletics Communications as they relate to video and multimedia applications, particularly as it pertains to live and on-demand video content.
- Identify creative avenues and new technologies to use to enhance the university athletics brand, university core values and NCAA philosophy across campus and to the surrounding community.
- Potential opportunity to serve as communications contact for assigned sports.
