What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Construction Services Gr7 CONSTRUCTION LABORER
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Perform Labor type work in a commercial construction setting.
- Work inside & outside in various conditions at Sandia National Laboratories.
- May be reassigned to priority projects at any moment’s notice.
- Collaborate with other craft/trades on the same jobsite project to achieve mission success.
- Collaborate with management, safety professionals, planners, and all other areas.
- Maintain a safe and clean jobsite.
- May need to work non-standard hours to support mission needs.
- Assist Tradesmen in structural modifications and repairs.
As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.
Qualifications We Require:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance.
- Adhere to established procedures and schedules, install, and replace a variety of building fixtures.
- Repair holes in wood and concrete floors and walls.
- Install metal ceiling grid; install special metal brackets; read sketches and drawings.
- Assemble/disassemble furniture and workstations.
- Assist tradesmen in dismantling and building complicated structures and making structural/mechanical/electrical modifications.
- Perform miscellaneous duties not limited to shovel trenching and Laborer work and placing concrete.
- Hydro excavating and potholing.
- Moving furniture and equipment that may require the use of forklifts, hand trucks, and dollies.
- Pickup and transport materials, equipment and supplies, maintain simple work records, and keep areas in - clean and orderly condition.
- Requires thorough knowledge of a variety of building materials.
- Must have a valid New Mexico state issued driver’s license.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Experience job mobilization and clean up.
- Familiarity with the common computer-operating environment.
- Active Department of Energy "L" or "Q" clearance.
- Experience in small construction equipment and supplies.
- 4+ years of construction labor experience in a commercial setting.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
