Job Description

The Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is currently seeking a postdoctoral candidate in the area of immunology and transplantation biology. The successful candidate will investigate local immune responses to allogeneic non-self in the context of hematopoietic stem cell and solid organ transplantation. Our research explores adaptive and innate immune responses and aims to understand how these responses are sustained over time. We utilize small animal models, traditional cellular immunology approaches, and high-throughput sequencing technologies. This research is critical for developing new therapeutic strategies to improve transplant outcomes. Our current projects are based on the following publications:

Qualifications or Expectations:

  • • Ph.D. or M.D. with a focus in immunology, transplantation biology, and/or a related field.
    • Demonstrated commitment to basic science research.
    • Strong analytical skills and interest in publishing manuscripts as part of training.
    • Strong candidates will have a promising track record and passion for making significant contributions to the field.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate research findings.
