Postdoctoral Associate - Hillman Cancer Center(#174)
Job Description
Postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Roderick O’Sullivan’s laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. These funded projects will focus on the intersection of DNA repair and epigenetic mechanisms in cancer initiation. This research will integrate cellular and molecular biology of cellular cancer models, optical imaging, and biochemistry. Applicants with expertise in next-generation genomics methodologies are particularly encouraged to apply for this position.
Candidates nearing completion of a PhD degree in cellular and molecular biology or a related field are encouraged to apply. Necessary research skills include standard molecular and cellular biology techniques. Prior experience in cancer research is not required. In addition, candidates should be highly motivated, seeking to contribute to advancing the understanding of cancer initiation. The laboratory maintains a highly collegial team-based work environment that values critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and intellectual independence to pursue open questions.
Salary is commensurate with experience, and past research accomplishments and will be adjusted based on work performance and research achievements. The candidate may be eligible for a Hillman Postdoctoral Fellowship for Innovative Cancer Research
