Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Science, Public Health, Healthcare Management or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 14 (Salary)

Position Description:

The Executive Director, Administration and Operations for the Environmental Health Institute will provide strategic oversight over administrative and operations affairs related to academic functions of the institute, including research, teaching and clinical research and support and sustain the Institute’s performance while working to identify opportunities to enable sustainable growth. In collaboration with the academic leadership of the Institute, the Executive Director will review, create, redesign, and implement effective operational processes and procedures that include stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and change initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review existing operational processes, procedures, and policies relevant to the mission of the institute, and develop ongoing understanding and surveillance of institute operations, including the identification of problematic pain-points, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies and develop and implement effective solutions to address them.

  • Interface with the administrative leadership of the University and ensure alignment with the University policies and initiatives.

  • Direct and monitor extramural program administration.

  • Develop and inject performance transformation, quality assurance, business intelligence, and change management strategies into existing and new projects and centers supported by the institute.

  • Lead in developing and executing operational strategy for the Institute in partnership with the Director for Finance and Operations.

  • Lead in development of recruitment plans, work assignments, and strategic initiatives.

  • Coordinate clinical research initiative and development of new clinical programs.

  • Coordinate teaching, training, and mentoring activities within the Institute.

  • Oversee and administer Faculty Affairs areas.

  • Provide executive oversight and recommendations for partnership/joint venture.

  • Interface with advancement, marketing, state and federal relations to support their efforts and initiatives.

  • Coordinate and co-organize academic and community activities in partnership with Institute leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Science, Public Health, or Healthcare Management.

  • Leadership experience demonstrating that the candidate can own, influence, and execute initiatives and problem solve.

  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to turn into actionable strategic frameworks and operational plans.

  • Excellent communication skills, along with strong organizational skills and a strong work ethic.

  • A flexible, emotionally intelligent team builder with strong critical thinking skills, self-awareness and the ability to exercise discretion and due diligence will be a perfect fit for this position.

  • Willingness and ability to provide quality presentations to a varying audience and the desire to provide nimble and proactive customer service.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$198,900.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$132,600.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
