Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate II performs assays to support research studies, assists in the interpretation of research outcomes, analyze data using computer-based approaches, train new staff on various techniques, and assists in the clerical and supply aspects of the laboratory environment. The PI’s research lab is focused on diabetes research, the regeneration of pancreatic insulin-producing cells and oxidative stress.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Utilize laboratory equipment and establish protocols, perform a variety of research experiments. Record and validate results for accuracy and completeness.
- May modify protocols.
- Write standard operating procedures and reports.
- Maintain records of work performed including results and methodology; utilize records to calculate, graph and compile data.
- Develop techniques and expertise in one or more areas relevant to laboratory research project.
- Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in compliance with safety procedures and guidelines in handling, storage and disposal of materials.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
- Two years related research/ laboratory experience with a Bachelor’s degree or one year related research/ laboratory experience with a Master’s degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience with animal work is a plus.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $49.60 / hour
