Job Description
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Sarah Lawrence College seeks a half-time guest faculty member in Spanish to teach a yearlong Beginning Spanish course in the 2025-2026 academic year. Classes in our thriving Spanish program are capped at 15 students and typically meets twice a week for 85 minutes or three times a week for 55 minutes. We seek an instructor dedicated to imparting the rigorous language skills that will support our students in their work at the College and at our study abroad programs in Havana and Barcelona, as well as furthering our students’ interest in Spanish and Global Hispanophone cultures more generally.

Compensation listed for this position is for a full-time tenure-track faculty position and will be contingent on teaching experience.
Required QualificationsPrevious experience teaching Spanish language at the college level is required. Candidates should hold at least a Master’s degree in Spanish.
