Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Processor processes the student, hourly, and monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements. Maintains confidentiality. Acts as liaison between employees, supervisors, HR, and Payroll.
Salary Grade
Essential Functions
Assists the Payroll Manager with all the processes that are related to payroll, including compiling and entering payroll data to maintain payroll records.
Reviews the accuracy of paycheck calculations and provides a high level of customer service.
Reviews timecards for non‑exempt staff and student payrolls in TCP system.
Records payroll for non‑exempt staff and faculty/administrative payrolls.
Enters appropriate changes in connection with direct deposit or check preparation for payrolls.
Prepares authorizations for tax deposits for the Payroll Manager to approve.
Prepares reconciliations and related audit schedules as requested.
Monitors and reviews vacation and sick leave accruals for non-exempt employees as needed.
Uses payroll ticketing system to respond to all inquiries regarding payroll.
Provides or confirms payroll data to Payroll Manager or Controller as required.
Performs other bookkeeping or accounting related tasks to support others in the business office.

Minimum Qualifications
General working knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Solid organizational ability with great attention to detail.
High level of integrity.
Excellent communications skills (written & verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Ellucian Colleague or Banner a plus.
1 year of experience with payroll.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object. Occasional evening and weekend obligations.
