As a Dosimetrist II in Radiation Oncology, the primary responsibilities involve performing CT simulation and treatment planning using 3-dimensional computer-assisted techniques. Under the guidance of a staff physicist, the role includes conducting general patient dosimetry, incorporating hand calculations for external beam therapy, and calculating doses for irregularly shaped fields. Additionally, the Dosimetrist I prepares Total Body Irradiation data for treatment and conducts quality assurance checks on the treatment planning system to ensure accuracy and safety in radiation therapy procedures.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Independently assess the necessary dosimetry and physics requirements for fulfilling the physician’s prescription
- Recommend treatment strategies to the physician
- Perform 2, 3-D, and IMRT treatment planning
- Perform treatment planning for HDR and interstitial brachytherapy
- Digitize and import all beam shaping blocks at the completion of the simulation process
- Contour normal tissues according to physician instructions
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years as a Certified Dosimetrist
- MDCB

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $62.00 - $99.20 / hour
