The successful candidate:
This is a PRN position.
Organize and manage the activity at the nursing desk to support the nursing process and provision of care to the patient.
Monitor ECG’s, Sao2, Co2 and pressures of patients in Inpatient Services. Responsible for notifying the nursing staff if any of these is outside predefined parameters and charting printed tracings every 8 hrs. and as needed.
Collect vital signs, intake and output, blood sugars, pain levels and other patient information as directed by the licensed nurse.
Reports to the licensed nurse any change in patient status, patient behavior, or unusual findings of data or incidents that might have occurred.
Documents accurately in the medical record the care that was delivered, activities completed, and other data that is collected for the patient.
Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and unit.
Provides support to nursing staff and other personnel in the daily activities of the unit and during emergency situations.
Minimum Experience
Six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a health care environment OR a second-year nursing student OR six months prior experience in a medical setting.
Training as a Unit Secretary in a hospital or equivalent setting preferred.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
PCT certification or CNA license desirable, but not required.
Must have and Active BLS certification, American Heart Association (AHA) is desirable

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.51 - $24.87 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
