The Information Technology Services Modernization Program at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Modernization Program Change Management Lead.


About the Opportunity

The Modernization Program Change Management Lead will oversee all change management activities for the Modernization Program at WVU. The CM Lead will serve as the conduit between the Modernization Program Director, the program workstream leads (Data Strategy, Student Experience, ResearchConnect, Workday Business Modernization), and the functional stakeholders across the institution.

What You'll Do

Create and implement a comprehensive change management strategy that minimizes end user resistance and maximizes end user engagement as well as driving sustainable adoption, greater utilization, and higher proficiency in changes that impact employees, with a focus on business results achieved. This role will focus on driving comprehensive engagement efforts with key stakeholders and organizational leaders across the university as well as enabling the organization’s understanding of the change management portfolio (e.g., benefits and risks of initiatives).
Support the development of a standard CM methodology (e.g., processes, work products, KPIs, reporting).
Coordinate change management and communications resources (time, people, financial) across the Modernization Program workstreams. Work with Modernization Program Director and implementation partner (Huron) to ensure change management deliverables and timeline are realistic and on target. Establish and manage to change management performance targets, reporting regularly on key metrics.
Maintain active, two-way communications to engage and seek actionable feedback from stakeholders. Escalate issues and communicate with the workstreams and the Program Director in a timely manner. Address and arbitrate escalated issues and resolve competing priorities to achieve win-win outcomes, collaborating with program leadership and stakeholder groups as appropriate.
Work with Modernization Program workstream leads and implementation partner (Huron) to identify functional dependencies across the workstreams and ensure proper levels of cross-functional awareness of dependencies.
Lead, through informal authority, efficient, enthusiastic and proactive stakeholder engagement in a continuously changing environment, holding true to WVU’s vision and core values.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in organizational development, communications, or related field.
A minimum of seven (7) year of experience in enterprise level transformation change management experience.
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree
Significant experience leading enterprise level transformation change management in higher education and/or health care.
Significant process improvement experience.
PROSCI certification and/or significant experience and strong delivery record in change management and associated resource management.
Flexibility to manage in a matrixed organization, understanding how to use influence and trust to build and sustain relationships without direct reporting lines.
