Posting Summary
Serves as administrative assistant to the department Chair, as well as provide support for the department faculty and faculty recruitments, facilitate schedule of courses, coordinate course and curriculum changes, create and manage the department website, social media, listservs and Teams site. Handle advisor assignments and change of major/minor for undergraduate students. Assist in undergraduate and graduate student recruitment activities. Organize event planning, including annual first year and graduate welcome, department retreats, department award ceremony and other department-related events. Coordinates maintenance requests and keeps office stocked with supplies. Assists with special projects as needed. Social media experience is helpful.The ability to prioritize and multi-task is essential.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associates Degree with one to three years administrative experience to include customer service required. Working knowledge of applicable office software applications (Word and Excel) and internet resources required. Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $23.00/hour - $25.00/hour

Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position
