JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership: Provides leadership for the Business Affairs auxiliary enterprises, including effective performance management and the identification of training needs and professional development plans. Establishes a culture of accountability and ownership, by establishing the vision, strategy and departmental goals.
Strategy: Develop initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative processes within assigned areas that support and promote the strategic goals and initiatives of Business Affairs and the university. Collaborates with the division’s leadership team on strategic initiatives, organizational planning, program development, and operational efficiency.
Operations: Administers all aspects of BA auxiliary operations, including venue operations, client services, outsourced contracts, concessions, technology, pricing policies, work schedules, training and supervising personnel, operating hours, event scheduling, financial operations (including fiscal and inventory controls), and community outreach. Ensures the success of contract management (e.g., dining services, pouring rights/beverage services, snack vending, bookstore), events (e.g., sports, entertainment, graduation), transportation (e.g., Regional Transit System, University Athletic Association, and UF Health), which impact the UF community. Manages and increases the effectiveness and efficiency of operations through improvements to functional areas as well as coordination and communication between units.
Policies & Procedures: Reviews, designs, implements and administers university-wide policies, rules, procedures, and processes in alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements, ensuring that these are all established, documented, implemented, communicated, and kept current.
Special Projects: Ensures that miscellaneous assignments, projects and tasks as assigned or as needed to support the division, Business Affairs leadership, or other stakeholders are completed in the best interests of the university.
Partnerships: Provides exceptional support services to the university community through effective business partnering, developing and maintaining high standards for customer service and satisfaction across all auxiliary services.

EXPECTED SALARY:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and nine years of appropriate experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) (or relevant field otherwise), and ten (10) years of executive-level administrative and financial management experience with demonstrated success in a role of complexity in government, academia, or the private sector.
Must have proven ability to manage complex operations and lead a diverse team, previous experience overseeing auxiliary organizations (Profit &Loss responsibility). Experience in higher education strongly preferred.
Must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills to negotiate complex relationships and represent the University and/or Business Affairs professionally and engagingly with an interest in developing mutually beneficial outcomes.
Demonstrated record of establishing effective working relationships with diverse populations and functions, both internal and external to the organization.
