Job Summary
This position represents Augusta University at both on and off-campus programs and events to prospective students, parents, two-year school colleagues and other individuals and organizations. The purpose of this position is to recruit transfer students to the university. The position also requires the ability to counsel prospective applicants on the transfer admissions process, transcript credit evaluations, academic policies for graduation, and various academic opportunities available at the university for all students. The Transfer Admissions Counselor must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including office hours at Augusta Technical College, and be able to work independently with undergraduate applicants to resolve circumstances, complaints, appeals, deferrals, and admissions denials. The Transfer Admissions Counselor will coordinate their own territory and transfer student recruitment plan, which will include scheduling, reporting, and interpreting data and strategizing recruitment efforts to meet future enrollment goals. The counselor will coordinate, staff, and implement special events and programs to grow Augusta University's transfer student population.
Responsibilities
The duties include but are not limited to:
REPRESENTATION: Represent Augusta University at on and off-campus, day, and evening programs to include two-year college visits and Augusta Technical College or Augusta University office hours, college fairs, and informational sessions to prospective students, parents, and other individuals or organizations.
COMMUNICATION: University enrollment is dependent upon the communication skills and recruitment efforts/strategies of the Admissions Counselor. Must be able to respond to a variety of questions regarding the admissions and selection process. Must be able to make executive decisions regarding the transfer admissions process and transcript credit evaluations and requirements in the absence of a supervisor.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Maintains communication with prospective students via phone, in-office, email, text, or social media through all stages of the recruitment cycle and admissions process. Tracks communication in customer relationship management system. Must be able to build a rapport with all students and is responsible for counseling prospective applicants on the admissions process, academic opportunities available, and financial assistance options.
STRATEGIC RECRUITMENT: The Transfer Admissions Counselor creates, coordinates, and implements a strategic territory recruitment plan which includes scheduling visits and events; reporting and analyzing data; and, implementing recruitment plans in an effort to meet projected enrollment goals. Identifies key barriers and works with campus partners to enhance transfer student process. Additionally, the Transfer Admissions Counselor will build strong relationships with colleagues at Augusta Technical College to recruit students for the Augusta Advantage program.
CREDIT EVALUATION: The Admissions Counselor helps maintain and disseminate information about the credit articulation process for prospective students and applicants. Including working with partner institutions to set up transfer pathways into Augusta University
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with one year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference is given to candidates having worked in higher education, counseling, public relations, sales or marketing.

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Willingness to learn Slate and Banner and how to manage CRM
Ability to cover travel costs, with reimbursement occurring after the fact required
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to all communities
Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday-Friday
Pay Band: B7
Salary: $20.29/hour - $22.50/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
