The Department of Finance and Insurance has a full-time tenure track position available beginning August, 2025.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting scholarly research in the area of risk management and insurance, and service to the university and profession.
Teaching: Teach up to 9 semester hours of undergraduate or graduate courses, both on-campus and online.
Research: Conduct scholarly research in the area of risk management and insurance, and publish in high-quality academic journals
Service: Actively contribute professional service to the Department of Finance and Insurance, the Miller College of Business, Ball State University, and the profession.

Job Function:

The Department of Finance and Insurance has a full-time tenure track position available beginning August, 2025.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting scholarly research in the area of risk management and insurance, and service to the university and profession.

Minimum Experience:

Education: PhD in risk management and insurance or other business-related field from an accredited college or university. (ABD near completion at time of application will be considered but degree must be completed by date of appointment.)
Research experience: Evidence of scholarly research including submissions and work in progress.
Teaching experience: At least one semester (four months) of higher education teaching experience in risk management and insurance or other business-related field.
Other: A commitment to Ball State University's enduring values.

Preferred Experience:

Teaching: Full time teaching experience in risk management and insurance.
Education: PhD in risk management and insurance from an accredited college or university.
Research: A record of publications in refereed journals in risk management and insurance.
