General Information:
James Madison University’s School of Accounting (SOA) invites applications for a visiting one-year appointment at the rank of Lecturer, beginning in the Fall of 2025. The teaching load for this position is 12 credit hours per semester (4/4). This is a full-time benefits-eligible position.
The SOA is committed to preparing students to be active and engaged citizens who are able to apply accounting and business knowledge for the betterment of individuals and organizations. We value an environment of educational excellence in which:

• Faculty create and disseminate meaningful intellectual contributions and actively participate in the academic and professional communities; and

Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory financial and managerial accounting. Other areas of teaching are possible based on interest and experience. Other duties may include departmental service and maintaining professional qualifications in accordance with the College of Business Guidelines for Faculty Qualifications.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree in accounting or business from an AACSB-accredited institution.
• Significant and substantive professional work experience within the past five years relevant to the position or currently qualified as an instructional or scholarly practitioner at an AACSB institution.
Preferred:
• Certified Public Accountant.
