Postdoctoral Associate
Job Description
Summary
The Boeynaems lab seeks a postdoctoral associate to study protein condensation is implicated in the etiology of neurodegenerative disease and brain cancer. The work includes cell culture, microscopy and high-throughput genetic screening.
Job Duties
- Designs and conducts high-throughput genetic screens, including library design, cloning, screening (FACS- or microscopy-based), sequencing and analysis.
- Collects and compiles data with appropriate metadata, and analyses using appropriate statistical methods, and according to rigorous data standards.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information needed for particular studies.
- Prepares experimental results for written publication and oral presentation.
- Assists the group leader in writing of publications and grants.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in molecular or cellular biology, or biophysics.
- Highly self-motivated with outstanding experimental skills.
- Able to think independently but also work well in a team.
