Saint Mary's seeks a per-course adjunct faculty member for its Technial Lab series (THTR 259). In Spring 2025, the course topic is Props.
Wednesdays, 3:20 - 4:35 pm
Course Description:
Tech Lab: Variable Topic offers introductory hands-on training in technical theatre/design skills not otherwise specified in the course catalog. For Spring ‘25, the topic is Props.
As an introduction to the craft of creating props for the stage and screen, each student will gain skills and knowledge in areas including, but not limited to: building, research, design, budgeting, and creative problem solving as they relate to props. In addition to weekly class meetings, students will have assigned readings and hands on assignments addressing the areas noted above.
The course will be taught in person, on the Moraga campus.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: An advanced degree in Technical Production or a related field, expertise in the techniques described above, and at least 3 years of experience working with undergraduate students. The successful candidate will have experience in a culturally diverse classroom setting, the ability to create a student-centered, interactive and collaborative learning environment, and a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
Candidates must reside in California.
Salary: $2,482 - $3,436 depending on qualifications
The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
