Position Description:

The Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) Laboratory has an opening for a Data Specialist I position who will manage several large datasets in our laboratory. The Data Manager will work closely with Dr. Cheri Levinson, and a team of local and international researchers to maintain several large datasets, including cleaning and scoring data and preparing datasets for analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee data standards, policies, and procedures for faculty and staff.

  • Maintain and update relevant documentation, including data management plans, standard operating procedures, quality control plans, various syntax and metadata, and training materials.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of data collection tools, including surveys, psychophysiological sensors, and daily diary platforms.

  • Manage and maintain data collection and processing systems for complex longitudinal datasets, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) data, and psychophysiological data, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and accessibility.

  • Train and supervise a team responsible for data collection, processing, and quality assurance tasks.

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to utilize the most suitable research platforms and technologies, including keeping up to date on industry standards, tools, and technologies in data management.

  • Provide assistance with data analysis, including statistical modeling, interpretation of results, and the use of appropriate analytical techniques.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks for code in Python and R, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.

  • Prepare statistical analysis plans and multidimensional datasets for faculty and staff.

  • Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff for manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications, such as producing figures and written sections describing methods and results from various studies.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient computer knowledge to interface with a variety of database, statistical, and imaging task and processing software, such as SPSS, SAS, R, Qualtrics, and RedCap.

Competencies

Database management and data cleaning.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
