The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center is the single largest investment in a cybersecurity facility in the nation to date. The $100 million facility will help to fill the current and growing shortage of cybersecurity talent in the state and nation. The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center represents a unique public/private partnership that includes Augusta University, Augusta Technical College, the University System of Georgia's research institutions, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and other state, federal, and private-sector partners working together to meet this workforce demand and to innovate, train, and strengthen defenses.
The state-of-the-art Center is located in the growing cybersecurity corridor in Augusta, Georgia, that is also home to the U.S. Army Cyber Command and Cyber School of Excellence at Fort Eisenhower. The Center is located on the downtown campus of Augusta University and houses the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.

The Accountant 3 reports to Director of Business Operations at the GCITC and is responsible for monitoring and maintaining financial accounts for the GCITC. Duties include account reconciliations, day-to-day financial processing, preparing financial reports, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
FINANCIAL: Maintain fiscal data as needed to support the Director, Business Operations, GCITC, to include the use of complex spreadsheets, databases, and query writing. Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts for multiple fund sources, resolving errors and findings in a timely manner. Manage revenue tracking and billing for each unit, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting and USG policies and procedures. Prepare a variety of financial statements showing income, expenses, and balances; perform accounting analysis. Prepare reports on cost allocation, revenue and expenditure comparisons and cash flow projections. Prepare check requests, cost transfers, budget amendments, requisitions, and other financial transactions. Assist Director with budget prep activities. Maintain all applicable backup to ensure audit-worthy financials. Interact with departmental personnel within the University, Foundation, and other entities to resolve discrepancies on a variety of financial transactions. Prepare various reports and cost analyses and perform data collection, while providing expert knowledge and guidance. Serve as P-Card holder for operational unit, to include tracking and all associated responsibilities.
OPERATIONAL: Assist with tracking maintenance expenses and contracts associated with the building facilities. Assist with routine process review and development of new processes as needed for the GCITC. Work closely with Director, Business Operations, GCITC in developing necessary tools to ensure policy and process implementation. Collaborate with each unit of the GCITC executive group, GCITC Resident partners, and key leadership to meet the mission and vision of the GCITC. Incorporate operational needs into daily activities to support all areas. Develop workflow charts and programs as needed.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in accounting with three years of demonstrated experience in accounting work such as general ledger functions, close out processes, auditing, bookkeeping, and / or creating financial statements.
Proficiency with standard systems and spreadsheets for accounting tasks, reconciliations, and tracking.
Knowledge of standard accounting and bookkeeping principles and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in PeopleSoft Financial Systems
- CPA certification
- Master's degree in business administration
- Experience in a business type setting

Understanding of broader business operations and financial strategies to provide recommendations.
Knowledgeable in account management and reconciliations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B10
Salary: Minimum: $52,500/annual - Midpoint: $65,000/annual
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
