Job Summary
Provide administrative and operational support to CAHS administration, department chair, and faculty by planning, organizing, and budget oversight in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
PROPERTY CONTROL: Serve as Assistant Property Control Officer for the department. Submit Asset Management paperwork for transfer and/or surplus. Complete annual inventory audit and property loan agreements. Monthly review and maintenance of inventory to include computers, equipment, printers, fax machines etc. Maintenance of departmental space.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Serve as administrative support for the program's application, admissions, and related student affairs.
BUDGET/FUND: Responsible for oversight of the department budget from all fund sources. Purchase office, teaching, and research supplies, equipment, and furniture etc. Monitor and update all department reconciliations. Prepare and submit requisitions, check requests, travel authorizations/ reimbursements, and budget amendments. Monthly review of pre-payroll reports and distributions. Authorized user of the purchasing card. Monitor and make recommendations regarding utilization of departmental resources and efficiencies.
PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Responsible for the timely processing of personnel actions for faculty, staff and students to include but not limited to time and attendance, effort reporting, recruitment, etc. Initiate all personnel actions including epars, employment requests, faculty/staff recruitment, and faculty/staff initial employment documentation.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Provide administrative support to the Chair, Faculty and students to include but not limited to calendar support, schedule meetings, prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, program events, etc.
RECORDS: Responsible for the maintenance and organization of all departmental records. This position must follow AU and CAHS policies and procedures. Incumbent will serve as a resource to faculty and students regarding policy and procedures and must be knowledgeable of any changes
OTHER DUTIES: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization and nine years' progressively responsible office experience.
OR
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of six years' progressively responsible office experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years of experience in administrative and budgetary responsibilities of academic programs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases.
Maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.

Attention to detail, critical thinking, and initiative.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
ABILTIES
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines despite often interruptions.
