The Neuroradiology Section in the Department of Radiology at the University of Louisville has an opening for a full-time Academic Neuroradiologist open rank. Faculty rank is contingent upon qualifications and experience. We are adding a new faculty member to our core group of four fellowship-trained neuroradiologists. We currently cover three teaching hospitals. A separate Emergency Radiology group covers the ED.
Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties and Training of Diagnostic Radiology Residents:
Interpretation of structural studies: MRI, CT scans, myelograms and plain films of the brain.
Extracranial head/neck, MRI of the brachial plexus, MRI lumbar plexus. Optional: in-utero MRI of the brain and spine (few) and post-partum MRI of infants (few).
Interpretation of MR and CT cerebral and Neck angiograms.
Interpretation of functional imaging studies: BOLD fMRI, DTI with tractography, CT/MR perfusion (including ASL) and CSF flow studies. Optional: DCE of CNS, ENT.
Procedural expertise:
Fluoroscopically guided lumbar punctures, myelograms and chemotherapy injections (injections performed by oncology). Optional: Facet blocks, epidural steroid injections, discograms, nerve blocks.
Conference Participation:
CNS and ENT tumor boards, stroke and epilepsy conferences, resident and fellow case and core didactic lecture conferences. Optional: medical school lectures.
Research: While optional, if interested, the desired candidate will have strong research record of publications or other evidence of scholarly activity.
Required Qualifications: Medical Degree or equivalent, eligibility for Kentucky Medical License, ABR Certified/eligible, CAQ in Neuroradiology or eligible.
Salary and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. The University of Louisville offers an excellent benefits package. Base compensation plus bonus above 9500 RVU’s.
