The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center is the single largest investment in a cybersecurity facility in the nation to date. The $100 million facility will help to fill the current and growing shortage of cybersecurity talent in the state and nation. The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center represents a unique public/private partnership that includes Augusta University, Augusta Technical College, the University System of Georgia's research institutions, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and other state, federal, and private-sector partners working together to meet this workforce demand and to innovate, train, and strengthen defenses.
The state-of-the-art Center is located in the growing cybersecurity corridor in Augusta, Georgia, that is also home to the U.S. Army Cyber Command and Cyber School of Excellence at Fort Gordon. The Center is located on the downtown campus of Augusta University and houses the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.
Job Summary
The Director of the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center Cyber Range is responsible for leading the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range effort to ensure it optimally supports both the training, research, and innovation missions at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center. This position will develop and execute the overall operational strategy and business plan for range utilization, to include optimizing the range to meet customer requirements, implementing and managing customer services, and identifying partnership and other funding opportunities. This position will also provide technical advice to the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Executive Director and staff with regards to cloud computing and automation.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
MISSON AND STRATEGY: Develop and implement the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range strategy and business plan. Work with the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Executive Director to define/update Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range mission, strategic goals, and implementation plans that support the training, research, and innovation lines of effort.
GENERAL GOVERNANCE: Lead a team of cloud computing experts to develop and operate open-source Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range capabilities and infrastructure to meet Georgia's research, training, and workforce development needs. Manage Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range infrastructure, content, and security to ensure the range is in compliance with Augusta University policies/procedures and adheres to appropriate industry standards and best practices. Ensure Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range content, scenarios, and exercises are of professional quality and align with Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's mission. Provide leadership/mentorship to Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range staff and student interns; identify and manage professional development opportunities to ensure Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's range staff and student interns maintain/acquire necessary skills.
PROGRAM STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT: Identify and manage customer and partner relationships. Work with Augusta University, Augusta Technical College, the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center staff, and other stakeholders to ensure Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range capabilities meet articulated requirements and expectations. In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Outreach and the Augusta University Director of Corporate Relations, and Industry Engagement Strategist, identify and foster both client and partner relationships necessary for the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range success.
OPERATIONAL & QUALITY OVERSIGHT: Develop and execute an annual Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range budget. Develop and manage cost estimation and pricing for Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range products and services. Oversee procurement and management of Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center Cyber Range equipment, software, integration, licensing, and maintenance agreements. Coordinate Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range hardware and software refresh cycles. Manage 3rd party relationships that benefit/enhance Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center's Cyber Range capabilities. Identify and manage data center and overall network capacity needs.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with 12+ years of experience in IT/Cyber and at least 7 years' experience specific to cloud computing and operations.
OR
An Associate degree in a technology related field with five years of experience in cloud computing and/or cyber range operations.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a technology related field, with three years of experience in cloud computing and/or cyber range operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited college of university in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a technology related field, with 2 years of experience in software development, information technology, or a related field
Preferred Experience
Experience with cloud computing, data science, network architecture, software development, and/or cybersecurity
Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS/SCADA), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber Operations
Experience in creating cyber exercises, cyber training, and competitions
Federal government or military experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B19
Salary: Minimum $144,800/annual
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
