Responsibilities
The Krishnan Lab in the Genes & Human Disease Research Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and independent individual to join their team.
The Krishnan Lab studies the evolutionary mutant model organism - Astyanax mexicanus or the blind cavefish - to better understand human metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. An ideal candidate will be experienced in the study of glucose and fat metabolism, mitochondrial biology, and/or oxidative stress. Experience in molecular biology techniques including ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq will be a plus. Prior work with fish as a model system is not required.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent. The successful candidate is also expected to be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
