Position Summary
This person will be responsible for providing website development support for UCA’s online presence and improving the user experience by providing highly functional and effective websites. They will also be responsible for coordinating multiple web projects from initiation through post-launch implementation and maintenance, and directly communicating project status with campus partners, and administration.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and design front-end code for webpages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
Implement responsive and adaptable designs to ensure optimal performance on various devices and screen sizes
Collaborate with other team members and campus partners, including Information Technology, to ensure the successful execution of projects
Producing, maintaining and modifying websites and user interfaces
Creating tools that improve site interaction regardless of the browser
Following SEO best practices
Fixing bugs and testing for usability
Foster an inclusive and diverse working environment in all activities, strategies, and interactions.
Lead training sessions for campus partners on using WordPress.
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Fluent in HTML, CSS and PHP
Knowledge of Javascript and jQuery
Experience with WordPress Multisite
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
Good understanding of SEO principles
Knowledge of web accessibility issues for users with disabilities
Experience in developing responsive web pages
Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console
Familiarity with MySQL
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
Familiarity with social media integration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skills Considered Essential for Success
-Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education.
-Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations and procedures.
-Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
-Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team.

Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
At least 3 years of experience in a professional web development role
Significant experience developing for web content management systems.
Experience producing cross-browser and responsive website applications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Prior experience in higher education
Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
