Job Description
Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assumes overall responsibility for daily operations of the Financial Aid office, including training and management of operational staff, awarding aid, verification, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and appeals, return to Title IV calculations (R2T4), compliance and process improvement.
Maintains full working knowledge of the federal, state, and institutional regulations. Develop and maintain departmental procedures to ensure continued compliance.
Provide leadership, training, supervision and professional development of staff members.
Develop and execute auditing and quality assurance procedures to monitor all daily performance of staff.
Troubleshoots awarding and disbursement of aid and resolve all discrepancies in a timely manner.
Counsel students and parents as needed.
Participate in college night functions, summer orientation sessions, workshops, classes and other activities as necessary.
Work closely with federal, state, and internal auditors.
Coordinate with other departments what is needed for the University to remain in compliance with regards to maintaining eligibility to utilize Title IV funding.
Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Systems to ensure quality of awarding and reporting processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Two years of supervision experience.
Minimum of three years’ experience with administering federal financial aid, working with federal regulatory guidelines, and federal financial aid software systems.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
In depth understanding of the Banner higher education administration system
