Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Academic Programs & Project Coordinator, Senior, supports the Office of Community Engagement and Belonging with the implementation, assessment, and growth of our faculty/staff development initiatives. These initiatives focus on three key areas: 1) Community Development and Employee Retention, 2) Mentorship Opportunities and Leadership Development, and 3) Educational Access and Universal Design. Responsibilities will include managing day-to-day operations, supervising student employees, managing departmental communication, working with facilitators to schedule events, making purchases, and collaborating on data collection and analysis to inform programming decisions. Level Scope:
Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of areas typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Plan, manage, budget, and support implementation of programs and activities including faculty/staff development workshops, and consultation offerings.
Coordinate collection of data to support program assessment and evaluation.
Develop and implement a communication plan (to internal and external audiences) including marketing materials, Campus Groups, and reports related to program initiatives.
Conduct research and summarize data to inform decision making, evaluate program effectiveness or alternatives, and to inform program development.
Maintain and update website with timely information, serve as point of contact for upgrades and web compliance.
Work with Employee Development Specialist and other stakeholders to evaluate and develop certificate program(s), based on campus needs and evidence-based best practices for community and employee development.
Contribute to strategic planning and governance conversations within the department.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor student employees.
Oversee internal administrative processes and documentation, including team drive, desk operations, and workflow documents.
Develop and facilitate programming designed to foster thriving community, support employee morale, and improve educational access.
Coordinate support for employee cohort initiatives.
Provide consultation services to individual faculty and staff seeking support for fostering belonging and improving accessibility within their working and learning environments.
Engage in ongoing learning about current research, trends, and best practices related to departmental and university strategic priorities.
Participate in the production and dissemination of scholarship that aligns with departmental and university strategic priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong writing skills to contribute to the writing and editing of a variety of documents and communications.
Good relational skills as well as the ability to partner effectively both internally and externally.
Ability to manage/coordinate projects, navigate multiple task streams, and ensure that work is carried out in a timely fashion.
Ability to foster inclusive work environments.
Ability to work independently to solve problems and seek resolution.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail in one’s work.
Knowledge of current research, trends, and best practices for fostering belonging, improving educational access, and cultivating mentorship opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus 5 years experience.
