The Ball State University Libraries is looking for a talented collaborator and detail-oriented technical analyst to join our committed and highly engaged team as Library Technical Support Analyst. As part of the Library Data and Discovery Solutions group in the University Libraries, the successful candidate will provide support, administration, analysis, workflow assistance and development work on enterprise-wide library solutions including Ex Libris Alma, Summon and Leganto, plus ILLiad and EZProxy solutions. The incumbent will integrate and implement new library technologies in cooperation with the Head of Library Technologies and other library personnel. Position Function
Provide ongoing support, administration, analysis and development of computer/data systems and processes critical to the services and operations of University Libraries; integrate new library information technology solutions with existing library systems supporting faculty teaching and research and student learning; support an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative work environment and service culture to advance the strategic direction of the University Libraries.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, library and information science, information systems/technology, MIS, or related field at time of appointment.
Minimum Experience
At least one year of experience supporting, configuring, administering, troubleshooting, and networking library solutions; in-depth knowledge of various computer platforms including Windows, Mac, UNIX.
Minimum Other
Effective oral and written communication skills; ; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; availability to work some evenings and/or weekends. Strong demonstrated commitment to libraries and libraries services.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Other advanced degrees in related fields with strong emphasis in information system management.
Preferred Experience
Additional years of experience in information systems support, project management, and administration of library services platforms such as ExLibris Alma, interlibrary loan management solutions, OpenURL link resolvers, and discovery solutions, and user authentication solutions such as EZProxy; demonstrated experience using Perl, PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript Framework, Java and/or other web interface technologies.
