Job Description:
The Biology Department at Farmingdale State College invites applications for a Lecturer in Microbiology. Teaching responsibilities will include Medical and/or Oral and/or General Microbiology lecture and/or laboratory. In addition, the position may require student advisement and service on departmental committees; future duties may include course coordination and curriculum review and development.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned Master's or PhD in a field related to Microbiology.
Experience teaching Microbiology (or other lab courses that heavily utilize bacterial cultures) at the undergraduate level.
Ability to relate to and work with students in various aspects of their academic pursuits.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Multiple semesters teaching Medical Microbiology at the undergraduate level.
Course development and assessment experience in Microbiology.
Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
Additional Information:
This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.
For the first 10 working days, beginning Wednesday, October 16, 2024, and ending Tuesday, October 29, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Thursday, November 14, 2024
SALARY: $65,000 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $69,000 Compensation.
