Job Description
Sarah Lawrence College Department of Biology seeks part-time guest faculty members to teach two courses in the spring 2025 semester. We are interested in candidates who can teach one or two of the following courses: genetics; botany; plant physiology; developmental biology; immunology; neuroscience. Other courses within the candidate’s area of expertise will be considered if proposed in the cover letter.
Courses will be capped at 15 students and include a seminar class (meeting 2x/week) and biweekly meetings with individual students to develop a semester-long independent project—conference work—which typically takes the form of a substantial literature review.
Application materials must include: cover letter indicating your preferred courses and a description of any experience teaching biology at the college level; CV; contact information for three references.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an Employment Visa.
Compensation for this position is on a per-course basis, contingent on teaching experience.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant field or be within the final year of their doctoral program.
Salary
$10,500 - $14,000
