Summary

Takes initiative to coordinate day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Retrieves, processes, and ships participant biospecimens to collaborators. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and safety of research participants in addition to maintenance of IRB protocol.

We are seeking proactive individuals who take initiative to identify and resolve challenges, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the study and lab processes.

Job Duties

  • Liaise with clinical teams to identify participants meeting inclusion criteria of studies.
  • Oversees and conducts participant recruitment.
  • Oversees sample collection, processing, and storage.
  • Coordinates receiving and shipment of samples.
  • Utilizes Epic to extract participant information.
  • Gather comprehensive clinical data including patient history, family information, and any other relevant information.
  • Input data into REDcap and maintain accurate up-to-date records.
  • Aids with budget and expense reports.
  • Handles maintenance of IRB protocol as well as the preparation of IRB applications and amendments in BRAIN.
  • Oversee and coordinate the collection of participant samples.
  • Coordinate with pathology departments for the processing and storage of biospecimens.
  • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and shipment of samples to collaborating institutions.
  • Ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Facilitate communication between the research team, clinical staff, and external collaborators.
  • Take initiative to identify and resolve challenges related to recruitment, data collection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Seek opportunities to improve study processes and outcomes.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree.
  • Research coordinator experience.
