Position Description:

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a part time Research Assistant II for the Challenging Ongoing Legacies of Racism (COLOR) lab at the University of Louisville. This position will involve working with data and research participants on a NIMH funded study focused on racism and mental health. Specific duties will include assisting with study design and planning, assisting with literature reviews, coding experimental tasks using Inquisit and SR, writing syntax for data cleaning and analysis using SPSS, assisting with data collection online and in the lab, running participants through eye-tracking protocols, setting up eye-tracking studies, maintaining study databases, assistance with installing and upkeeping laboratory equipment, managing undergraduate student RAs, and other general tasks that may be required as part of the grant (e.g., coordinating with consultants, maintaining a balance excel sheet to track expenses). The research assistant will work closely with the Director of the COLOR Lab, Dr. Yara Mekawi, and her graduate students and research assistants.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology

• Ability to run participants through eye-tracking protocol using EyeLink

• Experience with development of full IRB applications and amendments

• Two years of previous psychology research experience

• SPSS experience (e.g., creating scoring/reliability syntax, cleaning data)

• Ability to program studies on REDCap including measures, randomization protocol, working with multiple arms of a study

• Experience recruiting participants from various communities in Louisville
