Summary

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a cardiothoracic surgeon to join the cardiothoracic surgery program at the Ben Taub Hospital, a major BCM hospital affiliate. Located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, the Ben Taub Hospital is a tertiary safety-net hospital for Harris County and part of the Harris Health System, which includes 2 hospitals and 18 community health centers that serve over 5 million residents. Ben Taub Hospital has a long-standing cardiothoracic surgery program with an emphasis of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Ideal candidates will have an established track record of clinical excellence in cardiothoracic surgery to perform the full spectrum of operations including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, aortic surgery, transcatheter procedures, and general thoracic surgery. Candidates with a focus in thoracic oncology will be highly considered. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching medical students, surgery residents, and cardiothoracic surgery fellows. The ideal candidate will also develop innovative research in basic/translational or data sciences.

ABTS board certification or board eligibility is required, and the candidate must qualify for a full and unrestricted Texas medical license.
